This is the homepage, or central hub of all the websites created or owned by Kristian ‘Krispy‘ Brown.  Kristian is a professional developer by day (Java, Oracle, PL/SQL etc), and a creator of many websites of over the last 15 years in his spare time.

This site itself is run on a 3rd party content management and blogging system called WordPress, which takes all the effort out of creating a ‘news’ site such as this.

Krispy does create his own sites from scratch using his PHP and MySQL skills, but knows that trying to re-create the wheel is laborious and pointless in some instances.  His short story site ‘Short Fiction’ (http://www.short-fiction.co.uk) is a prime example of his own coding, written from scratch and iteratively over time in PHP and MySQL.

But on the whole open source tools are the way forward!

Krispy isn’t a designer as such – he leaves that to his mate David (www.id-8.co.uk & http://www.hawkav.co.uk/).

This site is here as a homepage to share general thoughts and knowledge, and to act as a portal to Krispy’s other websites and interests – see a selection on his portfolio page.
